Four ships of the United States Navy have been named USS Neptune in honor of the Roman god of the sea.

  • USS Clyde (1863), a 294-ton side-wheel steam gunboat, was briefly named Neptune when first commissioned.
  • The second USS Neptune, a 1244-ton screw steamship, served during the American Civil War.
  • The fourth USS Neptune (ARC-2), a Neptune-class cable repair ship, served throughout the Cold War.

A fictitious nuclear submarine USS Neptune was the setting of the movie "Gray Lady Down."
