In the Return to Weapon X story arc, it is revealed that Peter was saved from a firing squad by a boss in the Russian Mafia. Colossus was originally recruited to the X-Men during their first adventures in The Tomorrow People. He was revealed as a mutant during an illegal arms transaction in which Peter and his associates are betrayed by their customers and attacked. With Return of the King, Colossus and the X-Men locate Magneto's flying citadel using a signal sent by the captured Cyclops. Relationships

At first Peter didn’t trust Wolverine, but after Wolverine rescued the team from Weapon X, Peter and Logan started working together more closely. Both coming from violent backgrounds, they teamed up on assignments from Xavier, walking the street all night looking for people who needed their particular kind of help.


Jean Grey reveals in the World Tour arc that Peter is in love with a member of the team. It is assumed to be Wolverine as in the Return Of The King arc when it seemed they might not survive, Colossus told Wolverine he would like to tell him what is inside his heart in case they do not survive. Wolverine knows exactly what he wants to say and lets Peter know it would be better if he left that secret alone. Toward the end of this arc, Colossus rushes to the aid of Wolverine, resisting Magneto's magnetic hold. As he attacks Magneto, he shouts "Nobody lays a hand on Wolverine! You hear me? NOBODY!" It’s assumed Peter got over his crush after learning of Wolverine’s attempted murder of Cyclops.


Colossus meets Northstar (Jean Paul Beaubier) in The Tempest arc after Jean Paul is shot by Mister Sinister. Peter watches over the comatose Jean Paul all night. After Jean Grey wakes Jean Paul telepathically, he asks if Peter was single, shocking him enough to revert to his organic steel form. This page relates to the superhero. ...


Colossus and Northstar meet again in the Magnetic North arc when Polaris is framed for murder. Northstar is part of the group that goes to break her out of the Triskelion. Northstar and Havok take out both the X-Men and the Ultimates by pitting them against each other. By the end of the battle, only the Scarlet Witch and Colossus, who was holding her back, were left standing against them. Colossus tells them to surrender but Havok suggests Colossus join them. Northstar, remembering Peter from the hospital, also encourages him to join them. Colossus hesitates but before he can answer, the Scarlet Witch breaks free from his grasp and prepares to attack. Soon thereafter, it is revealed that Colossus and Northstar have kept in contact, having exchanged email addresses. During a phone conversation between the two, Jean-Paul asks Peter to be his date to his school's Homecoming dance and Peter accepts. The dance is interrupted by the Brotherhood. As expected, a fight ensues and the X-Men become involved. Whether Colossus and Northstar will attempt a second date has yet to be seen.
