Ulverstone is a town on the northwest coast of Tasmania, Australia. It lies at the mouth of the Leven River, on Bass Strait. It is on the Bass Highway, around 15 km west of Devonport. It has a population of 9925 (1991 census), making it the state's largest town, and is part of the Municipality of Central Coast.
The town was first settled in 1848 as a timber town, like nearby Penguin. It is now better known as being a centralised location to the northwest coast's two cities, Burnie and Devonport.

Ulverstone itself is known for its many parks, each offering something unique.
Other attractions in the Ulverstone vicinity include a miniature railway 2 km (1 mi) from town, and a hop farm (tours available during harvest time, March & April).
