Encyclopedia > Umbilical cable
Jump to: navigation, search

The Umbilical cable is used to supply the Eva units with power rather than relying on their individual stored amounts of energy. The cable apparently supplies massive amounts of energy, seeing as in the first manga edition of NGE when the cable was cut, Eva unit 01 had an almost insignificant amount of time to act and try and counter an attacking Angel. The cable is attached to the back and appears to have a massive amount of slack, as the Eva unit, when the cable is in useage, seems to go unhindered by the appendage. The Umbilical cable was cut in Shinji's battle with the Angel Shamshel.
