Umm al-Qaiwain (Arabic language: أمّ القيوين) is one of the United Arab Emirates. It is in the north of the country, and is ruled by Sheik Rashid ibn Ahmad Al Mu'alla (شيخ راشد بن احمد المعلا).
The emirate had 40,000 inhabitants in 1997, and has an area of 750 square kilometers.
Accepted alternate spellings include Umm al-Qawain, Umm al-Qaywayn, Umm el-Qiwain, and Umm al-Quwain.
UmmAlQuwain (أمّ القيوين) is between Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah on the West coast of the United Arab Emirates.
UmmAlQuwain, one of the 7 members of the United Arab Emirates, covers an area of 800 square kilometres and stretches from the beautiful, lush green coastal mangroves lining the shores of the Persian Gulf, inland across the rolling sand dunes to the fertile oasis surrounding Falaj Al Moalla.
UmmAlQuwain Museum is a renovation of the fort of UmmAlQuwain which once guarded the entrance to the old town, overseeing the sea on one side and the creek on the other.
