A good example comes from north-western Australia where the Rainbow Serpent, known as Ungud, is believed to have created clones of itself and deposited them in various water holes.
In a sense Ungud is an archetype of life itself—an All-Soul, rather than a Father-God or Mother-God.
Given that Ungud is said to be bisexual, it is possible that the apparent facial outline enclosing nose and eyes (but no mouth) is actually a symbol for the testicles and penis inside the vagina.
