Unión de Santa Fe is a football club from Santa Fe, the capital city of the province with the same name in Argentina. It was founded in 1907. In 1965 it won for the first time access to the Primera Division. It has played there for many years, alternated with periods in the second division. Unión's supporters are called "unionistas" or "tatengues", and another name for the club is "El Tate". The colours of the club consist of red and white vertical stripes. The stadium, accommodating 25.000, is called "15 de abril". Among the best known players issued from Unión are Leopoldo Luque, world champion with Argentina in 1978, and Nery Pumpido, the goalkeeper of the national team which won the World Cup in Mexico1986.
