UnitedProgressiveAlliance (UPA) is the present ruling coalition of political parties in India.
UPA was formed soon after the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
This alliance is externally supported (supporters are not part of the government) by the four main leftist parties; Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Revolutionary Socialist Party and All India Forward Bloc.
Tomorrows meeting of the ruling UnitedProgressiveAlliance (UPA) is to be a Budget- specific exercise which will discuss the broad contours of the new governments first rail and general budgets.
UPA sources said the meeting was earlier slated for June 25 but it was rescheduled for tomorrow so as to give sufficient time to the government to incorporate the inputs received from the UPA members.
Since the UPA government has now been in power for a month, the UPA meeting is also likely to discuss how the new government proposes to implement the ruling alliances Common Minimum Programme (CMP).
