The United States Census of 1880 was the tenth United States Census. Conducted by the Census Bureau, it determined the resident population of the United States to be 50,189,209, an increase of 30.2 percent over the 38,558,371 persons enumerated during the 1870 Census. The time taken to tabulate the census was seven years.
