Unity is a town located in Sullivan County, New Hampshire. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,530.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 96.3 km² (37.2 mi²). 95.7 km² (36.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.65% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 1,530 people, 504 households, and 385 families residing in the town. The population density is 16.0/km² (41.4/mi²). There are 594 housing units at an average density of 6.2/km² (16.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.35% White, 0.07% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.46% from two or more races. 0.72% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 504 households out of which 30.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.5% are married couples living together, 4.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.6% are non-families. 17.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
