Unity is a village located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 368. The village is located partially within the Town of Unity in Clark County and partially within the Town of Brighton in Marathon County.

Unity is located at 44°50'53" North, 90°18'53" West (44.848191, -90.31497)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.6 km˛ (1.0 mi˛). None of the area is covered with water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 368 people, 150 households, and 97 families residing in the village. The population density is 143.5/km˛ (372.1/mi˛). There are 157 housing units at an average density of 61.2/km˛ (158.8/mi˛). The racial makeup of the village is 99.46% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.54% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.54% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 150 households out of which 35.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.7% are married couples living together, 8.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.7% are non-families. 24.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 3.02.


In the village the population is spread out with 26.9% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 103.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.3 males.


The median income for a household in the village is $31,458, and the median income for a family is $47,813. Males have a median income of $29,000 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the village is $17,819. 12.7% of the population and 6.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 17.3% of those under the age of 18 and 22.4% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
