History The University of Nice was officially founded on October the 23rd 1965. However, its precessor can be traced back to the 17th century with the Collegium Jurisconsultorum Niciensium, founded in 1635 by the Prince of Savoie. This became an important school of law, jurisdiction and consultancy.
