The University of Trento is a university located in Trento, Italy. It was founded in 1962 and is organized in 7 Schools and 13 Departments. The university has over 15,000 students. Its School of Sociology is famous for being the origin in Italy of the students' protests of 1968. Since 2001, when the national ranking by CENSIS started, Trento keeps the Top places in the national ranking of the more than seventy Italian Universities and Faculties and the first place in many scientific areas.
