University Radio Falmer (URF) is the student radio station for the University of Sussex and Brighton. Broadcasting on 1431am it covers the Sussex campus and Brightons Falmer campus. URF began broadcasting back in 1976 on the frequency 999am. It eventually moved over to 1431am and also broadcasts on the internet. www.urfonline.com
The station enjoys links with community station Radio Reverb as well as many members past and present working for Juicefm.

Recent Achievements
URF celebrated 30 years of broadcasting in 2006. A week of events including a Birthday themed party at the Hot House saw the station further promoted to students across campus.
Mara Webster won the bronze award for Best Female at the Student Radio Association/Radio 1 Awards in 2005. The final judge was Radio 1 DJ Colin Murray.
Ex-member Andrea Fox now presents drivetime on Brightons local station Juicefm with Guy.
Ex-member Adam Lindsay is currently the producer of the breakfast show on Juice.
Ex-member Jonathan Pascoe works on the Heartfm breakfast show with Jamie Theakston.
The vision, over 20 years ago, which led to the URF and which guides the work of the foundation to this day, is that we must support the energies, efforts and expertise of those who treat prostate cancer and those who are searching for a cure.
The present story of the URF is of a foundation in the forefront of genetic research in the area of prostate cancer, but the past history of the URF is also impressive.
Arnold Schwab is one of the original founders of the URF and a past President of the Foundation.
