Ury house used to be the HQ of the Quaker organisation in NE Scotland. The Religious Society of Friends, commonly known as Quakers, or Friends, is a religious community founded in England in the 17th century. ...
Today the house is derelict and entry is prohibited because of the dangerous state of the structure. There have been proposals for its restoration, but a 2004 planning application was rejected by the local Community Council.[1]
