Asiatic Black Bear (Ursus thibetanus or Ursus tibetanus), or Tibetan Black Bear, can be found in forest of montainous areas in East Asia, including Taiwan and Japan. The Asiatic Black Bear type that is found in Taiwan is the Formosan Black Bear subspecies.


It grows to 130 to 190cm in length weighs between 100 and 200kg.
