What is VCR Plus+? The VCR Plus+® Instant Programming system is the most popular instant recording system on the planet. It allows you to record TV programs with the PlusCode® number for the show you want to record. Just look up the PlusCode number in your TV listings and enter it with your remote control into your VCR or DVD-R, and the VCR Plus+ system does the rest!
How does VCR Plus+ work? The user simply presses the VCR Plus+ button on the VCR’s remote control and enters the PlusCode number from the TV listings for the show to be recorded. The date, time and channel of program to be recorded will be displayed instantly on the screen or on the recorder. The user can choose to record the program just once, daily or on a weekly basis. When the time comes for the desired TV show to be recorded, the VCR Plus+ system will signal the recorder to turn on and start the recording. With the proper set-up procedure (channel mapping), the correct channel will be recorded--even if you have a cable box (VCR Plus+ C³ or VCR Plus+ GOLD required). When the duration of the program ends, VCR Plus+ will send a signal to the recorder to stop the recording and turn off.
Where can I find the VCR Plus+ PlusCode numbers? PlusCode numbers are a standard in TV listings published in the United States and Canada—and in more than 30 other countries around the world. Virtually every leading newspaper in North America features the PlusCode numbers. Dozens of cable guides also print PlusCode numbers. On the Internet, TV Guide Online offers comprehensive PlusCode numbers to enable convenient recording of shows on all the major channels, whether broadcast or carried by local cable systems.
PlusCode numbers are printed in TV program listing in various newspapers and cable guides. The system is known as Video Plus in the United Kingdom, ShowView in Europe and G-Code in Asia and Australia. However, the coding is different in each of the regions and recording equipment is not interchangable.
