Vagif Mustafa Zadeh (1940 in Baku - 1979) was an Azeri jazz pianist and composer. He created the style of "jazz-mugam", a blend of jazz and Azeri folk music. Zadeh won first prize at the 8th International Music Festival in Monaco in 1978, but died the next year. He is survived by his daughter Aziza Musta Zadeh, who is known as a jazz singer in her own right.

Vagif Mustafa Zadeh was an Azeri jazz pianist and composer, famous for fusing jazz and traditional Azeri folk music known as mugam.
Vagif attended Baku State Musical Technical School, from which he graduated in 1963, ten years after the Soviet ban on jazz was lifted, after having been in effect for almost a decade.
Vagif's name was chosen by the renowned poet, Samed Vurgun, on the request of his mother.
