Valverde (Spanish meaning "green valley") is a municipality in the Canary Islands in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is situated on the northern and the eastern coasts of El Hierro. Valverde is also the official capital of El Hierro that serves only two municipalities and is the smallest. Valverde is linked with the highway that encircles the whole island. The nearest small airport is around the area.
