Van Kooten en de Bie were a Dutch (cabaret) duo by Kees van Kooten and Wim the Bie.

The two cooperated for years, before the started to work for the public broadcasting organization VPRO. First on the radio, later on television. Their first television appearance was in 1972 with the program "Het Simplisties Verbond" (The Simplistic Bond), with a carpet-beater as their symbol. In 1980 they changed the name in the weekly program called "Koot en Bie", a year later renamed to "Van Kooten en De Bie". After they changed the name to "Keek op de week" (View on the week) in 1989, many people still referred to "Koot en Bie".

They were mostly known about their critical view of the Dutch society and politics. In the course of years they performed many characters, from fictional to non-fictional.

They were for the final time to see as "Koot en Bie", on November 16, 2003 in the VPRO-program "Terugkeek van Van Kooten en De Bie".

Van Kooten and de Bie were very important for the Dutch culture from the seventies until the nineties. Some typical Koot en Bie expressions made it into the Dutch language.
