Vaxholm is a municipality of the Stockholm archipelago in central Sweden. Administratively it belongs to Stockholm County. The municipality covers an area of 57.2 kmē. Of the total population of 9286, 4584 are male, and 4702 are female. The population density of the community is 162 inhabitants per kmē.


The village of Ytterby is part of the Vaxholm municipality.
