The Vector W2 was a Concept Car created by Vector Supercars in 1981. It has a turbocharged engine that produced 600+hp and 600+ lbft of torque and the top speed was a claimed 200 MPH. The name suppositvely comes from the "W" for Wiegert (the man who designed this car is Jerry Wiegert) and 2 for the amount of turbos. Even though this car is a Prototype, which means that only 1 was built, the car was repainted and given new looks all the time (over it's lifetime, it's paint, small exterior details, and wheels changed many times) giving the impression that many were made. Jerry Wiegert originally planned to put this car in production many times, but it never happened. in it's lifetime the car has racked on over 100,000 miles, the most of any sportscar. In 1991 a modified version of the W2 went in production as the Vector W8. The W2 as it stands today Today after Wiegert bought the company back, picked uup tyhe W2, the M12 molds and the WX-3s from Megatech and took them back to the California headquarters. the car is now owned by Wiegert, and is sitting, not running, and collecting dust in a room at the Vector HQ. many Vector fans hope that one day Wiegert will restore it.
