Encyclopedia > Vern Paxson

Vern Paxson is an Internet researcher with interests ranging from transport protocols to intrusion detection and worms. He is an active member of the IETF community and currently serves as a chair of the IRTF. He is slated to step down as the next IETF meeting in November of 2004. From 1998 to 1999 he served on the IESG as Transport Area Director of the IETF.
