Video cards and Audio cards are hardwares/ softwares which are used for importing video and audio clips into a computer/ video editing software. The source of video and audio may be camcorders, CD, DVD, TV, tape recorders, your own voice or a film /stills/ data stored in the hardware of computer.

Video editing cards are softwares which allow a video or audio clip editing. these cards are also used to supress/ enhance the video or audio clips qualites (colour, sharpness, length etc. of video clips and volume, quality, length and sterio effect of audio clip). Editing card also helps in dubbing of sound on video clip, adding new sounds and synchronization of sound with vedio clip (e.g. lip movements are perfectly matched with dialogus etc.). Apart from these, titles can be given to a video clip/movie. Titles can appear and disappear in various ways (flying, slowly changing into other titles etc). Such mixing in a video clip can also create a three dimentional effect of things which appear on screen.
