Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 280 people, 120 households, and 81 families residing in the town. The population density is 600.6/km˛ (1,519.2/mi˛). There are 138 housing units at an average density of 296.0/km˛ (748.8/mi˛). The racial makeup of the town is 90.71% White, 5.36% African American, 0.36% Native American, 1.79% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.79% from two or more races. 0.36% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 120 households out of which 28.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.8% are married couples living together, 11.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.5% are non-families. 30.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.33 and the average family size is 2.85.
