Vientiane (Lao ວຽງຈັນ) is a province of Laos, located in the northwest of the country.


1989 the province was split into two halves - the Vientiane prefecture containing the city Vientiane itself, and the remaining province.

Huaphanh province, a mysterious, beautiful and abundant land, is situated in the North East of Laos, bodered by Xieng Khuang and LuangPrabang to the west and Vietnam to the East.
