Vilaflor (Spanish for Village of Flowers) is the name of a municipality, and a village in the southcentral part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The population is 1,798 (ISTAC, 2003), its density is 151/km² and the area is 33.92 km²/3,392 ha. Vilaflor is linked north of the TF1 superhighway and is linked with TF51 from Playa de las Américas and Arona and the TF-38 (formerly the E-N821). Farmlands are in the valley areas while mount Teide, the Canary Islands' tallest mountain lies to the northeast. Grasslands covers the south and the valley areas with forests and within Teide, the forests cover the northcentral part.
