"Viva la Vida" is the second single released from the British alternative rock band Coldplay's 2008 album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. It was initially released along with the iTunes Store pre-order of the album in May 7, but was eligible as a download-only track on May 25. The sales from "Viva la Vida" have made it Coldplay's highest charting single ever on the Billboard Hot 100, and their second top ten hit on the chart, so far reaching #3. "Viva la Vida" is now being used in a worldwide cross-marketing campaign for Apple's iPod +iTunes while Coldplay performed the song live for the first time at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards.
