Vlad Călugărul, known as Vlad the Monk, was a ruler of the principality of Wallachia, in the year 1481, again from 1482 to 1495 and finally once more, in the year 1521.

Vlad III Dracula was still a prisoner of the Ottoman Sultan, when news of his father's and brother's deaths reached him by the end of 1447.
