The Volkswagen TL was a 2-door sedan produced in Germany and by Volkswagen in Brazil in the 1970s, derived from the Volkswagen Type 3. Later it also had a 4-door version. Its station wagon version enjoyed more success and was called Volkswagen Variant, always with a 3-door body style, and had a successor in the failed Variant II, which had some mechanical problems and competed against more modern designs such as the Ford Corcel II Berlina.
