Lower School Choir is practicing a Voyageur canoe song, sung by French traders who had friendly relations with the indigenous people of America during colonial times.
They will soon be learning an Ojibwe song, which asks, "who is that over there, across the river, in a birch bark canoe?" This will culminate with a celebration around Thanksgiving, to give thanks for the foods indigenous people taught Europeans how to cultivate.
