W00t (235 words)
W00t rose in popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s to reach general usage and understanding.
One theory claims it to come from the vocalization made by the player in games of the Quake series when a jump is performed; however, as Quake was only first released in 1996, this etymology probably only furthered the popularity of the existing term.
W00t is pronounced as if it were "woot", and can also be written thus, or even w00+.
Urban Dictionary: w00t (416 words)
w00t was originally an acronym for "we owned other team" but used 1337$p34< for some of the letters(w00t instead of woot).
History: The current-day use of the word w00t stems from hackers in the early to mid 80's.
Because of the difficulty of "rooting" many times the term w00t would be much in a celebratory tone.
