WOWT channel 6 is the first television station in Omaha, Nebraska. The TV station signed on the air in 1949 as the NBC affiliate. In 1956, WOWT became the CBS affiliate before returning to the NBC network in 1986. The station's studios are located near 35th and Farnam streets in midtown Omaha.
