Scope This WikiProject aims primarily to suggest how aircraft-related articles can be put in to Wikipedia in an extensible and coherent manner.
Project Content WikiProject Aircraft contains articles about: Articles on aircraft types form the bulk of the project and see the greatest activity. Newly contributed articles can be found listed at Wikipedia:New articles (Aircraft). Contributions older than the previous month can be found here.

Project status As of mid-September 2004, the project contains articles on roughly 1,000 aircraft types and growing at around 100-150 articles per month. For comparison, Jane's Encyclopedia of Aviation (ISBN 0517103168) claims to have "over 5,000 entries".
