WSTO FM a heritage FM station founded by the owner of WVJS AM. The station was among the first FM stations in the region to transform from easy listening music in the early 1980's to pop music. The station remained in the original owner's family until the sometime in the early to mid 1990's when it and its sister AM station were acquired by the former Brill Media Corporation of Evansville, Indiana which also acquired WOMI AM and WBKR FM also of Owensboro. Brill Media later went bankrupt and all four stations were sold off. WSTO FM was acquired by South Central Communications Corporation of Evansville, Indiana and co-located the station with its Evansville FM WIKY 104.1.
