WWF RAW (a.k.a. WWE RAW) is a video game released on the Xbox console and the PC by THQ in 2002. All copies of the PC port and later copies of the Xbox original were titled WWE Raw due to the WWF's lawsuit with the World Wildlife Fund, causing them to change their name to WWE. The game was succeeded on the Xbox by WWE RAW 2 in 2003. Image File history File links No higher resolution available. ...

Overview
Originally stated to be an Xbox launch game, numerous delays pushed back the game from November 2001 to February 2002. Due to a recent string of lawsuits directed towards the WWF blaming the company for youth injuries, the game's blood effects were removed.[citation needed] In earlier builds of the game, wrestlers would bleed realistically from different body locations, and drip blood on the mat, which would remain there and darken to a brown color as time passed. There are even rumors about Tables-Ladders-Chairs Matches being removed from the game. Active Modders have even found traces of some other wrestlers in the game other than the ones stated below. That included Chyna, Steven Richards, The Goodfather, Bull Buchanan and Dean Malenko. There are even traces of The Radicalz and Right To Censor as teams in the game, it is thought that some were removed to make the game seem more updated since the wrestlers had been released by the time of the game's release. Reaction The game itself received mixed reviews. Some players praised the game for its fantastic graphics, which included detailed tattoos and hair, along with such features as attacking a wrestler during his/her entrance and stealing pieces of attire, such as Kurt Angle's gold medal. However, a lot of players complained about the terrible wrestler animation (especially their walk), dysfunctional AI and fundamental flaws in the gameplay. One example of this is the confusing controls, the same button is used for pinning an opponent, taunting, climbing the turnbuckles and entering and exiting a ring. As a result, pinning an opponent near a turnbuckle proved to be a difficult task. Second example was the ease one could escape any grapple move attempt to the point that it becomes impossible to apply one, especially against the game's omniscient AI that can escape and counter at will. Also, the game was missing features that were included in previous games and the sister SmackDown! series, including backstage areas and a Season Mode. Players also complained about the game having a very outdated roster from early 2001. Also fans were upset at the lack of match types, with there only being single and tag team matches. Gameplay includes all player experiences during the interaction with game systems, especially formal games. ...

Mods and patches The PC version of this game can be modded. This means that it can be modified and updated to the players liking. The XBOX version can also be modified using Game Extractor but with more difficulty. There is an active forum and many websites which have mods for the game, to single wrestlers, arena's, announcer packs and many others. Game HQ(link below) has been the main modding source for raw PC since its release and in December 2005 began a total conversion for WWE RAW called "WWE RAW: Ultimate Edition", it contains many modern wrestlers from today perfectly edited into the game. At the moment, the conversion is at "99.5%" and has made many new discoveries recently like an edited titan tron frame. This patch is not the only total conversion for the game(most famously one called WWE vs ECW or WWE RAW 2007) but nearly every other conversion released has contained uncredited(stolen) textures and sloppyness in how it was put together, Ultimate Edition has promised to be put together as neatly as possible and to give all the right credits. Although Game HQ has been closed recently for some reasons, so RAW Menace has made a forum which has got the Ultimate Edition's News and Progress.
