Grateful Dead - Wake of the Flood/Beyond Description (Box Set/Album Review) (256 words)
Wake of the Flood officially ushered in a new era for the Grateful Dead.
Coming three years after the issuance of American Beauty, the album was the first to be released on the band’s own label, and it also marked the recorded debut of Keith and Donna Godchaux.
The truth of the matter, however, may be that many have placed too much emphasis upon the ensemble’s improvisational tendencies and, as a result, simply haven’t examined the band’s early and mid-period albums from the proper perspective.
Converium: A Flood of Evidence (1929 words)
All great flood events of recent years can be attributed to the same cause: The ground was saturated after long and continuous precipitation, when a subsequent intensive rainfall resulted in a flood.
Whereas the damage from the Odra flood was contained to a limited area along the Odra river, the August 2002 flood affected large areas of Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic.
A flood insurance solution on a non-compulsory basis potentially faces the problem of adverse selection of unacceptably high-risk premiums for policyholders deemed to be high flood risks.
