Waldi was the first "offical" Olympic mascot. Created by the infamous 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. He was a Dachshund and modeled off a real dog named Cherie von Birkenhof. Waldi's head and tail were blue and his body was stripes of the other Oylmpic colors. The 1972 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad, were held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972. ...
