The Wales Rally GB succeeded the RAC Rally of previous years. Run on narrow forest roads and roads that run along the Welsh countryside around Cardiff. The weather of this rally is usually very unpredictable, which varies from pouring rain to hail to snow to sunshine. During the rain, the roads become extremly muddy and slippery. On Stage 15 of the 2005 Wales Rally, Michael Park, Markko Märtin's co-driver, was fatally injured in a crash. Märtin did not sustain any injuries.
