Iberian Wall Lizard ( Podarcis hispanica) In appearance this lizard appears initially to be just a large Viviparous Lizard. Closer inspection reveals numerous differences. Apart from the size, exceptionally up to 19-20 centimetres, it will be noted that the tail is a greater length in proportion to the body than other similar species. While the basic patterning of Wall Lizards is very similar to Viviparous Lizards it tends to be much stronger with bolder, brighter contrasts and colours. A common feature particularly but not exclusively in males is a row of quite vivid blue scales on the lower flanks. Both males and females can display a green colouration although this is far more vivid in the males.
