Wally Post was a major league outfielder for about a dozen years in the nineteen fifties and early sixties. He had his best year with the Cincinnati Redlegs. In 1955 he hit .309 with 40 home runs and over 100 runs batted in. He was known for hitting some tremendously long home runs. He also was respected for his strong and accurate throwing arm.
