Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen is a German arms manufacturer. For more than 100 years, Walther has created major breakthroughs in the development of pistols. Many have become legendary, like the PPK and the P99 — both weapons of choice for the fictional character James Bond — and the P38, often used by Nazi movie villains.

Walther PPK - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (333 words)
The Walther PP and Walther PPK are two pistols made in Germany and the United States (PPK).
Walther PPK (Polizeipistole Kriminalmodell - Police pistol for the criminal investigation department) is a shortened version of the Walther PP (Polizei Pistole) and differs from it in size (shorter barrel and grip) and magazine size.
The Walther PP was first presented in 1929 and the PPK in 1931; they quickly became very popular among European police agencies and civilian shooters since both guns were reliable, easy to conceal (especially the PPK), but of moderate power.
