Warren is a town located in Herkimer County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,136.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 99.6 km² (38.5 mi²). 98.9 km² (38.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.73% water.

Demographics

As of the census² of 2000, there are 1,136 people, 390 households, and 290 families residing in the town. The population density is 11.5/km² (29.8/mi²). There are 440 housing units at an average density of 4.4/km² (11.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.10% White, 0.62% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.26% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.18% from other races, and 1.58% from two or more races. 1.32% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 390 households out of which 32.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.3% are married couples living together, 5.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% are non-families. 22.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.69 and the average family size is 3.09.
