In 1975, Alice Cooper released his most highly acclaimed solo album, Welcome to My Nightmare. Having already pushed the envelope of rock theatrics, cooper knew that the stage show for this album had to be special. It had to have the classic Alice Cooper elements, but it also had to be grander and more bizarre than his previous shows. Cooper decided to record the show on film. The concert footage is taken from a series of shows filmed in London in 1975. Every startling, shocking moment of the live concert is recorded in the movie. The result is Cooper's best concert film, far superior to the earlier Good to See You Again, Alice Cooper. The film was a box office failure in its original 1975 release. However, like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Welcome to My Nightmare found new life on the midnight movie circuit. The film was hard to find during the 1980s, but has recently been resurrected in a new DVD version.
