In 1975, Alice Cooper released his most highly acclaimed solo album, Welcome to My Nightmare. Having already pushed the envelope of rock theatrics, cooper knew that the stage show for this album had to be special. It had to have the classic Alice Cooper elements, but it also had to be grander and more bizarre than his previous shows. The show that evolved was a grand visual spectacle, complete with a rear-projection system, huge set pieces, elaborately costumed dancers, a nightmare carousel and a dancing 10-foot cyclops. Alice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier, February 4, 1948), is a hard rock singer and musician. ... Welcome to My Nightmare is an album by Alice Cooper, released in 1975 (see 1975 in music). ...


Cooper decided to record the show on film. The concert footage is taken from a series of shows filmed in London in 1975. Every startling, shocking moment of the live concert is recorded in the movie. The result is Cooper's best concert film, far superior to the earlier Good to See You Again, Alice Cooper.


The film was a box office failure in its original 1975 release. However, like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Welcome to My Nightmare found new life on the midnight movie circuit. The film was hard to find during the 1980s, but has recently been resurrected in a new DVD version. The Rocky Horror Picture Show (RHPS) (first released in the United Kingdom on 14 August 1975) is a comedy-horror musical film directed by Jim Sharman from a screenplay by Sharman and Richard OBrien, who also composed the songs. ...
