The Borough of Wellingborough Local Plan was adopted in April 1999 with a plan period to 2006.
With most development to be directed towards the urban area, in accordance with the emerging County Structure Plan, the Borough Council decided to prepare a Local Plan Alteration that would cover the period to 2016 and be largely restricted to a review of housing and employment policies as they relate to the town of Wellingborough.
