Encyclopedia > West Hampstead tube station

West Hampstead tube station is a London Underground station at West Hampstead, on West End Lane between Broadhurst Gardens and Blackburn Road. It is on the Jubilee Line, situated between Kilburn and Finchley Road. It is in Zone 2 and is 200 metres from West Hampstead railway station.


It originally opened 30 June 1879 as part of the Metropolitan Line. From November 20, 1939 it was on the Stanmore branch of the Bakerloo Line and was transferred to the Jubilee Line in 1979.
