Encyclopedia > White City tube station

White City tube station is a station of the London Underground on the Central Line, which lies just a short distance north of the disused Wood Lane tube station. It lies between Shepherds Bush station to the east and East Acton station to the west.

The running layout has three roads, with the centre road having two platform faces; it can hence be used to handle trains running in either direction. A siding between the running lines to the west allows trains coming from Central London to be reversed and run back eastwards. Trains coming out of service can return to the car sheds at White City depot to the east of the station via sidings between the running lines.
