Gator is serving time in an Arkansas prison for running moonshine when he learns that his brother was murdered for protesting with his hippie friends and finds that sheriff J.C Conners Ned Beatty was the one behind it. Gator knows the sheriff is taking money from local moonshiners so he agrees to go undercover and try to expose the sheriff by getting in with the local moonshiners. He gets a job running moonshine with Roy Boone and starts having an affair with his girlfriend Lou after a shootout with moonshiner Big Bear. he goes after the sheriff and after an epic car chase gator gets his retribution by killing the sheriff.
