The Whitechapel Vigilance Committee was a group of people that patroled the streets of London during the infamous Jack the Ripper murders of 1888. The Committe was led by a Mr. George Lusk, who recieved a letter supposedly written by Jack the Ripper himself and was sent with half a human kidney. The committe patroled London mainly at night in search for this murderer. They never found anything but served as security of the people of Whitechapel, were the murders were committed. The Vigilance Team was formed by any person that would volunteer to search and capture the infamous killer.
