Widerøe's Flyveselskap ASA is a Norwegianairline founded in 1934. The company has served the STOL network in Norway since 1968, initially with a fleet of 19 seat De HavillandTwin Otters, later with De Havilland (now Bombardier) DASH-7, and now with larger aircraft. In 2002, the company served 32 domestic and 6 international destinations, had 1,200 employees, 90,000 landings and 1.5 million passengers. SAS has been a majority shareholder since 1997.
Wideroe is struggling with clear financial problems because revenue is declining and there is no sign of improvement," said managing director Per Arne Watle.
